The Main Hall is a large, light space with tall windows and a polished wooden floor. Book it for your party, wedding, club meeting, theatre production, badminton, keep fit, baton twirling, Pilates, lecture, dinner dance, Christening, funeral and more.

The maximum capacity of the Main Hall alone for closely seated functions or dancing is 150 people. For functions with seating at tables the maximum capacity is 90, and for functions combining dancing and tables it is 110. The Annexe (accessed though a wide corridor) has capacity for a further 60 people.

So for parties with space for dancing and some tables, if the Main Hall and Annexe are booked together the maximum capacity is a total of 170 people. (For closely seated events such as a pantomime, the maximum combined capacity of the Main Hall and Annexe is 210 people.) 

The hall has ramped access both to the kitchen door, and the main double doors into a small entrance area, a stage, a large kitchen with separate external door, an additional room mostly used to store chairs and tables.

There are several toilets including one that is fully accessible for wheelchair users and there is a baby changing table.

There are ceiling lights for good general lighting and dimmable wall lights provide more subtle lighting.

Heating is provided by radiant electric heaters in the ceiling in the hall and kitchen.

There is an amplifier with installed speakers that can be operated from the stage. The amplifier includes an induction hearing loop for those with hearing aids.

The Main Hall has a well equipped kitchen with wall-mounted water heater, fridge, large range with ovens, bain marie, large sinks, hot water urn, two kettles, microwave, teapots, crockery including jugs and cutlery. There is ample food preparation area and a serving hatch. Please note there are very few glasses – you will need to bring your own. The kitchen also has its own loo.
